Rather than attempt to dazzle you with a biting opening statement and fancy writing, I'll tell you about an everyday, successful Smith's English school franchise. You really can earn more money, with less stress and no boss. Try saying that about most English teaching jobs in Japan. It's possible to teach English at your own Smith's franchise full-time or part-time. It depends entirely on your objectives and commitments. My Smith's franchise, which is in a separate apartment I'm renting, is open Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays 4:00-9:45 pm and Saturdays from 2:00-6:45 pm for a total of 22 hours per week. I opened in November 1999 and am in my tenth month of operation.

I experienced positive cash flow in month 4 (Feb.) and a net profit in month 9 (July). First year sales will top 3.6 million yen. It's smooth sailing from here. Based on these numbers, any professional business consultant will give a whole-hearted recommendation to anyone considering opening a one-person store selling any kind of product or service. They are attractive for a part-time business, too!

If you're going to be in Japan for a while, ask yourself what you're going to be doing 9 months from now. I'll be making way over a million yen a month. I'm almost there already and enjoying a life which I control. Think about your life and give us a call.
