It took me what seemed like forever to finally make my decision to invest in and build a Smith's franchise English school. I was terrified what might happen if things didn't work out. All sorts of scenarios went through my head, not the least of which was the very real possibility of losing all or more of what was to me quite a large investment. These things need to be thought out thoroughly, for sure, but I need not have been so worried or fearful.
Smith's has been all that was promised, and more.
The main points about the Smith's system are on the website, so I won't repeat them. However, I can assure you that everyone at Smith's is true to their word, and they are constantly striving to improve in any way they can. They are extremely flexible, open-minded, timely, helpful, courteous, and respectful. I am encouraged to be better just by dealing with them every day.
By joining Smith's, I have bought into a system, and invested in a business, but I have also invested in myself. I am learning a lot and am enjoying it more every day! I now enjoy teaching even more than I used to, and am blessed with a work environment that I create myself. I have control over my day-to-day life, and my future.
I really believe that I have been getting out of this business everything I have been putting into it, and will continue to do so. They have a very strong system. If you work it the way it is meant to be, and do your best, you will be successful. I have no doubts about that.
If you have been thinking of starting a school on your own here in Japan, I dare say with the money you would save by not needing a receptionist/secretary, and perhaps by avoiding just a few simple business mistakes with their advice, this franchise would pay for itself within a year – and make your life a lot easier along the way. And when the time comes, there's also a proven system of selling the schools – for good value.
For me, this was definitely a positive choice.
I couldn't have imagined the early success we've had so far. It still amazes me.
We had our official opening on the 20th of June this year. Today is July 29th. We've been in business for 5 and a half weeks and would you believe the income from the business already exceeds our operating expenses?! What other business could we have gotten into that would have given us this kind of opportunity?
No doubt the initial cash investment might be difficult to come up with at first. But I believe it's worth it. For the same financial investment (franchise fee and set-up costs) I could have bought a modest car. After 5 weeks I am in profit!
Which do you think is the better investment?
