Hello all! (^.^)/ December is under way and it’s almost the end the year. December is quite a busy month for Japanese. I wrote a post on this last year. I invite you to read my post by clicking here. At my English conversation (英会話) school, Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi in Amagasaki, a great year [...]

The other day I had some time between classes at my English school, スミス英会話天神橋筋六丁目 so I went shopping in nearby Umeda (梅田). It is just 2 stops on the Tanimachi line (谷町線). There is a lot of construction going on! The recently completed new JR Osaka station (JR 大阪駅) is really amazing. Also, betwen Yodobashi [...]

Hi everyone, my name is James and I’m very happy to be opening a new Smith’s School of English franchise: Tenjinbashisujirokuchome school (天神橋筋六丁目校). I’ve been living in Tenjinbashisujirokuchome (“Tenroku” for short!) for the last 4 years and I love my neighborhood. It’s a short bike ride to both Umeda (梅田) and Osaka Castle (大阪城), so [...]

I enjoy holding events for students, either Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi only events or joint events with other Smith’s schools. All events are great opportunities for Smith’s English conversation (英会話) students to practice their English, meet other students, make new friends, enjoy good food and have a great time with their teachers outside the classroom. [...]
スミス英会話なかもず校・堺東校の講師が書いた記事。日本語はこちらへ。 One of the first things I remember noticing after having lived in Japan for a year was how the four seasons of the year were so defined. Each season provides opportunities to take part in a wide range of events and activities. Some are unique to Japan, and others I was used to doing [...]

This week, I decided that it was time to find some beautiful flowers to put in the reception room of our English Conversation school in Fuse, Higashi Osaka東大阪布施 . I went to the flower shop I usually go to right in the Fuse shopping alley and had a look at the flowers they were offering [...]

This week has been quite an eventful week here in Tsukaguchi, Amagasaki, Hyogo Perefecture, the location of my English conversation (英会話) school, Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi (スミス英会話塚口校). First we had snow on Monday which I earlier wrote about here. Then in the very early hours of this morning (around 2:15 am) a fire erupted [...]

Yesterday (Sunday) was a day off from my great job teaching English in Japan to fantastic students at Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi (スミス英会話塚口校) in Tsukaguchi (塚口), Amagasaki (尼崎市), Hyogo Prefecture (兵庫県). As usual, I spent the day with my wife and daughter. We had a nice late breakfast at the ACTA Nishinomiya Starbucks Coffee store in Nishinomiya’s shopping [...]

I think that learning proper English pronunciation (英語の発音) is important for Japanese people. Not knowing how to properly pronounce words can lead to them not being understood by English speakers. One of the things that I like about my job teaching English in Japan is being able to teach them proper English pronunciation. One [...]

スミス英会話布施校講師が書いた記事。 日本語のメインサイトはこちら Maybe the End of January/ beginning of February is a little bit early for this beauty of a flower, but on seeing them in the flower shop in Fuse, Higashi-Osaka 東大阪布施, these tulips チューリップ just caught my eye. The tulip is a really famous flower and I sure that everybody knows them, but new [...]
