This made for a really successful and very popular lesson. My lesson featuring the (not quite total) success of Japanese figure skater Mao Asada at [...]

I have been the franchisee and teacher of Smith’s School of English, Kawanishi スミス英会話川西校 for one year today!!!!!!!!
I have always loved languages, especially English, so it is really rewarding being able to earn my living teaching my favourite language at my own English conversation school. I always enjoy my lessons with my very special students, especially [...]

Yesterday, Asada Mao won a silver medal in the women’s figure-skating at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Today I have already used an exercise, based on an article about the final from the [...]

We have to be very careful when we take advise from folk. Today I proved without doubt that happy noise is good.
I have been teaching Eikaiwa to a marketing expert who works for a very large Japanese firm. This person mentioned he had seen our guys in the streets of Kyobashi and had some advice [...]

Sometimes I base most of a lesson on these lists (some from the Smith’s School of English curriculum, and some lists that I have made myself to augment these), or sometimes to occupy the last [...]

Well, another month has passed; I have now been the owner of Smith’s School of English, Kawanishi スミス英会話川西校 for 3 months, and I find myself in a reflective mood again. I have been thinking how easy I now find it to adapt lessons from most parts of the SSE curriculum to suit students of different levels. Again I [...]

There are 51 standard operating hours for all Smith’s school of English franchises. My school does not follow those standard hours.
