In America we don’t really have festivals like you do here in Japan. We have certain holidays, like the Fourth of July, where we celebrate Independence Day, and everyone gets together at parks or at each others houses to have barbeques and light off fireworks. It’s fun, but for me it’s old hat and not very exciting anymore. This is my third summer in Japan, so I’m really looking forward to some of the festivals this summer. I don’t even know all of the festival names, but if you do, please send me a message and let me know. Tell me your favorite festival and why, or if you like educate me a little about some of the summer festivals that I might not have heard about. I’d really like to know. I have been to a couple summer festivals near my home here in Japan before. It’s usually very hot, and late when we arrive, and my wife and I leave very early, but I don’t want to leave early this year. I want to taste some of the food, and drink a little as well. I especially want to see the people dancing in that big circle. (I don’t know what that is called) It looks so cool. I’ve noticed also that everyone seems so happy at these festivals and kids are running around everywhere having fun. Oh, and one more thing, the ladies and girls in summer Yukata, now that is very cool too. That’s something I wish we had in America. I know there are some festivals coming up soon, so I’m going to go home tonight and tell my wife that I want to go to all of them. I’m sure she will be pleasantly surprised, and after I attend a few I will post another article telling you how they all went.
