Surprise! Surprise! Not only do we have our own castle in Higashi-Osaka, known as Kosaka Castle (小阪城), but we also have our own White House! (東大阪 ホワイトハウス)
It’s amazing what you can find out here in Higashi-Osaka!
I had heard about this place from one of my students at Smiths School of English in Fuse （スミス英会話布施）and knew I had to see it for myself.
So, recently I decided to take a walk and check it out.
To reach The White House in Higashi Osaka you… can either get off at Kintetsu Fuse Station (近鉄布施駅）and walk north for about 15 minutes or you can also get off at Takaida Station on the Chuo line (地下鉄中央線 高井田駅) and walk for about 15 minutes, or finally you can get off at Fukaebashi Station on the Chuo line (地下鉄中央線 深江橋駅）and walk for about 5 to 10 minutes.

So, you may be wondering why we have our own White House in Higashi Osaka. (東大阪 ホワイトハウス)
Well, actually this place is the headquarters for Mikami, a decorative building materials manufacturer, and the White House was built back in 1984 to be used as a showroom for their products. (東大阪 ミカミ工業株式会社)
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it is open to the public and upon entering I was given a personal tour of the place by one of the friendly staff. I recommend you check this out!
Taking pictures inside is not allowed so I have included some links here that will give you an idea of what to expect.
By the way, the White House in Higashi Osaka can also be rented out for weddings; check out the prices on the company’s homepage.
Life size mannequins of all the presidents since Ronald Reagan are also on display; it is a pretty cool site.
