Local Promotion: Hagaki Koukan ( 葉書交換 ) Postcard Exchange In Your Local Area

Smith’s School of English Franchisees – Y’all have to read this!!  This will be of interest to any of you conducting or planning to start a local promotion campaign in your area.

A few weeks ago I was approached by two staff members of a large sports complex, actually the largest of it’s kind in Fukushima, to do local promotion together.  Now it has long been known that this kind of local promotion exchange is a very easy and powerful way to network with local businesses in your community, and I have been doing this with as many as 20 places at my Smith’s School in Fukushima for several years.

Now the word must have gotten out that I’m a regular contributor who can be trusted in the neighborhood because the staff at this well-known establishment have approached ME with the idea and said that THEY were willing to come by at regular intervals to update the exchange.  Imagine if half of the businesses at Fukushima willing to do a postcard exchange were to do this ……. I could easily get up to 40 places or even more!

To me, this represents the next logical step in the process of local promotion and it opens more doors to vast new opportunities for making your Smith’s Franchise a success!  And it’s all there for no extra effort!

Good luck with your school and with your local promotion efforts this spring and don’t hold back!

    Hi Martin,
this looks like a good marketing strategy. I was wondering if there was any way to quantify it. I mean do you get any direct (or indirect) feedback about it and what effect it is producing?
