One of my students runs her own izakaya at a station near Smith’s School of English Fuse School and recently I decided to check it out.
I had been finishing up some office work at Smith’s School of English in Fuse on a Monday night when my flyer assistant called me up and asked if I wanted to get a bite to eat.
I had not eaten yet so I said of course, and I suggested we check out my student’s place in Shuntokumichi (俊徳道駅).
The izakaya is warm and very comfortable.
We had a great time chatting with my student from time to time, but she was very busy that night! She and her mother were doing their best to take care of all the customers.
She looked a little stressed but then she smiled when I used a phrase we recently studied in class. Take your time.
We even chatted with some of the customers in English who wanted to practice some greetings and small talk with us.
The food was great, the service was excellent and I will definitely go back!
One thing I really love about my job is that it allows me to get personal and close with my students. It’s great that we are able to have experiences like this. It makes the job so much more personal and we are able to make many close friends.
To my students: If you are interested in having a nice time with some great food in a very warm and comfortable place, just check out Yurari (ゆらり) at Kintetsu Shuntokumichi Station in Higashi Osaka on the Kintetsu Osaka Line.
