A student returns from her vacation and gives me a tasty bottle of Nihonshu from wherever she went…I say, “oh you shouldn’t have…” And she is insulted because she thinks she really shouldn’t have done that and doesn’t understand that I am actually saying “I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.” That took a bit of explaining but she finally got it…This will be my “one point” with every student for the next week…Amazing how these one-points come out sometimes…
