Smith’s School of English Soap Box

Just got home from a long day. One which would have been much longer if it weren’t for head office’s help.
I run the school with my husband, and we have no other teachers. If we are sick we have to tough it out. Thankfully we haven’t had much trouble.
Until today, that is. My husband and I arrived at work today and got the school ready. Just as the first students were arriving, he informed me he had a headache, was starting to feel ill and might be sick to his stomach (which in fact happened). As luck would have it, we had a full schedule, with some new students (who need a little extra attention) and three trials (isn’t that great!) which also need lots of attention, concentration, and mental preparation. It would have been a busy day by any standard, but then take out one teacher, and… Well, I was certainly in a panic!
We contacted head office, and they negotiated with a couple of students to change their lessons, explaining what had happened and smoothing things over. To my great relief, it all went off without a hitch (even if I felt a little crazy).
AND… I signed all 3 trials today, with head office’s help and support.
Thank god for this system!
