Smith’s School of English Lesson for One Student at Kyobashi, 5-17-07 Pippa

This lesson was held in a multi classroom envirnoment at Smith’s school of English Kyobashi.

E.T.
If you decide to go bunji jumping should I try and talk you out of it? This is the first question I ask my two students as they make them selves at home. After a brief moment I was given an answer I will never forget `don’t talk me out of it, I want to go bunji jumping`

Build up – Phrase cards.

I had chosen two sets of phrase cards to present to my students. I placed one card at a time on the table where, together, we created some very adventurous stories. Our first card was night owl; thinking to myself `great this will be challenging I was proven wrong; one student almost jumped out of his chair and replied yes! I am also an early bird! . I was very pleased to see that both students were familiar with this saying. As they are both of a very high level we were able to construct productive conversation with the aid of the phrase cards.

Routine 12 Shopping

As this was only a review I was able to read the passage out to the students and asked a series of questions. I had the two students ask each other the questions. Fluency and sentence structure was perfect and we were able to elaborate a little and add some extra activities to the story.

One-point – from Smiths School of English One Point Series

Have you ever fallen in love at first sight?
After a blush and a giggle my two red students reply no. This lesson’s one point was love at first sight.
