Summary Description: The school is located just 3 minutes from JR Kichijioji station, which is about 15 minutes by train from Shinjuku and 30 minutes from Tokyo station. Kichijoji is a great location with tons of shopping and restaurants, and the office is a one-minute walk from a relaxing stroll through Inokashira Park. The area is well regarded among Japanese people and foreigners alike. There is considerable residential traffic as many people live and work here, as well as weekend traffic as people comes for shopping and dining. There are two Universities within a 20 minute walk of the school. The school itself is located above a fashionable hair salon in a one-room apartment. The building can be found easily, as it is located across a famous yakitori restaurant. Being close to several other established Smith franchises on the same train line means there is always the possibility for part time teacher assistance and cross promotion.

Competition: All the major competitors are in the area; however there is no doubt they simply add more to the mix of people wanting to study. Our prices and system are very competitive.
Growth/Expansion: The area has a constant influx of new residents, shoppers and tourists. In fact about 60% of our student body comes from nearby stations. There is certainly room for additional promotion. I have been running it as a part-time enterprise which is open mainly in the evenings and weekends leaving plenty of time for realistic growth. In the past we have placed flyers in over 30 local stores and restaurants and this can be continued as an additional source of leads. Our website, an important source of leads, continues to go up in ranking and with the support of the franchise it will continue to do so. With more people checking the internet for things to do in popular hubs such as Kichijoji, the number of leads should continue to grow.
Support/Training: Smith's Head office provides full initial and ongoing training.
More Information: The price being asked is similar to the cost for a new franchise start up including a modest room for the school to operate from plus the cash flow required to get a school started from zero to break even. It's a purchase for a person who doesn't want to go through the initial start up period, but instead wants to start hitting the ground running in a great area.
Reason for selling: Over the past 2 years I've operated two franchise locations simultaneously. While this has been quite a rewarding experience for me, on the other hand I feel I haven't been able to realize the station's full potential.
