Job Description

This position entails part-time employment in a comfortable, boutique-type, minimum stress environment at a Smith’s School of English location. The student body is comprised of both adult and children’s classes.

Full training and support will be provided to ensure that you fully understand what is expected of you at all times, and to provide you with confidence in fulfilling your tasks.

Position 1) Full time teaching position. Monday through Friday. Current teaching schedule can provide up to 40 hours.

Position 2) Part time teaching shifts. Monday through Friday. 1 to 3 days a week.

Extra hours can be provided by working with the owner in performing additional tasks, such as distributing flyers or administrative duties.

The teacher working in this position will be working closely with the school owner, and have full access to the owner at any time, as well as full access to our professional secretarial staff.

Position 1 is suited for someone interested in working full time at professional English conversation school, particularly (but not exclusive to) those who’s interest extends beyond just teaching and into administrative or marketing fields as well.

Position 2 is especially suited to someone who is looking to supplement their current work schedule with additional hours and experiences.

We are looking for a motivated, well-groomed, responsible individual who is interested in working and learning in a fun, entrepreneurial environment.

Remuneration

Minimum start is Yen 1,562 per hour, plus transportation costs of up to 1,000 yen per day.

At this rate, someone working 40 hours per week would earn a Japanese income of JPY 3,000,000 per year.

Preferred qualifications

Prior teaching experience in Japan is preferred, but not a prerequisite.

You will need to have the necessary qualifications to enable Smith's School of English to provide sponsorship of your work visa.
